Dr. Tu grew up in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. He studied biology at Penn State University, received his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, and completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He returned to Pittsburgh and actually crossed the river to join South Hills Family Medicine.
Dr. Tu understands the importance of getting to know the patient as a person and the context in which they live. Communication and openness are essential to provide personalized care that helps patients achieve good health.
He also enjoys teaching community-based medicine to students and residents.
Outside of work, he is an avid cyclist and world traveler.
